Tabris: Hey, did you hear the latest news?
Stacy: What has happened?
Tabris: A small village not far from here caught on fire.
Stacy: OMG! Was anyone hurt? What happened?
Tabris: It was rumored that a man appeared and put out the fire in a blink of an eye.
Stacy: Oh, I did hear about it! It’s the man who suddenly appears during dangerous events and then disappears as soon as it’s over, right?
Tabris: Yes. And I’ve heard that he has a name like no one else in the land: Nikolas, with a K.
Stacy: Even his name makes him sound awesome!
(Swagmaster appears, looks at Tabris and Stacy)
Swagmaster: You two, would you mind telling me where I am?
Tabris: You’re in Mitchell-Land.
Stacy: It’s the best place to be right now!
Tabris: What are you doing here?
Swagmaster: I am looking for a man.
Stacy: A man? What kind of man?
Swagmaster: A man with a name like no other: Nikolas with a K.
(Tabris and Stacy gasp)
Stacy: Why do you need Nikolas?
Tabris: You’re a bad guy, aren’t you? You’re here to kill him!
Stacy: OMG! Someone help us!
(Nikolas jumps, literally, into the scene. He stands between the civilians and Swagmaster)
Nikolas: I have come to stop you, evildoer!
Tabris: It’s Nikolas!
Stacy: With a K!
Nikolas: Fret no longer, young citizens! I am here to save the day!
Swagmaster: You are Nikolas with a K?
Nikolas: Yes, he is I! Who is asking?
Swagmaster: I am known as Swagmaster where I come from.
Nikolas: And where do you come from, Swagmaster? What reason did you come here?
Swagmaster: I come from far in the future. Disaster has struck my home and is quickly destroying the world as we know it. I have traveled through time to ask for your help.
Nikolas: What can I do to assist you?
Swagmaster: Return with me to the future and bring peace to the future world with your awesome power.
(Nikolas pauses for a moment and thinks)
Tabris: Do it, Great Nikolas!
Stacy: Save the future and become totally more amazing than you are now!
Nikolas: Alright. I will go and save the future, because I am the marvelous Nikolas with a K.
Stacy: OMG I have to tweet this!
Tabris: Wait, wait, wait… INSTAGRAM.
(Stacy and Tabris cheer for a bit, Nikolas and Swagmaster don’t pay attention to them)
Swagmaster: You have made a wise decision, Nikolas with a K.
Nikolas: Of course, because I am the cool hero and I always make the good decisions.
Swagmaster: You are known as a hero here, and now you will be known as a hero in the future.
Nikolas: Tell me, Swagmaster, what sort of bad things brought disaster to the world in the future?
Swagmaster: That is classified information. Telling you now could change the future.
Nikolas: Is that not that a good thing?
Swagmaster: It could be. But it could also be a bad thing. Both good and bad things could happen if I told you. However, it’s best not to risk it.
Nikolas: If you need me so badly, isn’t it only fair that you tell me what causes the world to take a turn for the worst?
Swagmaster: I cannot tell you.
Stacy: Why can’t you tell him?
Tabris: Yeah, why not? He deserves to know why you need his help!
Stacy: I bet you’re secretly in love with him and you’re taking him to the future so you can have him all to yourself!
Swagmaster: What? You are speaking nonsense!
Stacy: Who wouldn’t want Nikolas all to themselves? He’s so awesome and GORGEOUS!
Tabris: And his name is spelled with a K!
Swagmaster: ENOUGH. I came here for one reason and one reason only. (Points to Nikolas) Nikolas must return with me to the future and save the world from utter disaster.
Nikolas: I refuse to do anything until you tell me what will happen in the future.
Swagmaster: (say this line fast and angry) Because I just can’t, okay?
Stacy: Boo!
Tabris: Lame excuse!
Stacy: Come up with something better then talk to us later!
Tabris: You’re wasting Nikolas’ time! He has more important things to do than talk to you!
Swagmaster: It’s against the laws of time, you stupid girls! Telling him the future now would mess up the rest of the timeline, and I can’t have that happen!
Nikolas: What if I choose to not come with you?
(Swagmaster makes a gun with his hand)
Swagmaster: I will kill you.
Nikolas: (sarcastic) Oh, I’m SO scared.
Swagmaster: I will not hesitate to kill you, Nikolas with a K.
Nikolas: Really? Then shoot me already!
Swagmaster: I will only shoot you if you refuse to come with me back to my time.
(Nikolas takes “Swagmaster’s gun” (Nikolas just hits the hand that’s making the gun, Kathy no longer has the gun up, Nikolas now makes a gun with his hand))
(Nikolas is hysterical at this point)
Nikolas: What’re you going to do now, Swagmaster? I have your precious gun, so now you can’t kill me with it! I can choose to come with you to the future or not! I’ll do whatever I want with this gun! I can even shoot myself with it!
Swagmster: No, you idiot! Don’t shoot yourself!
Nikolas: I don’t take orders from you! I am Nikolas with a K! (Shoot himself in the head, falls to the ground)
(There is a pause)
Swagmaster: Well, I’m out.
(Swagmaster steps away from the scene. Tabris and Stacy look at each other then back down at Nikolas)
Stacy: So what do we do now?
(Tabris pulls out her phone and takes a picture)
Tabris: Instagram.
END SCENE.

Our teacher gave us an assignment to create a skit using Shakespearean language. So this is it. Minus the Shakespeare. I came up with most of the concept and wrote the entire thing myself. Aren't I just amazing? It was actually really fun to write and perform. I love the part where my character goes "Wait, wait, wait... INSTAGRAM." ("Mitchell-Land" is named after my English teacher. He found it very amusing.)
